You will find guides across the Internet telling you that you can Jailbreak the iOS4.1 official release with redsn0w. No, the iPhone Dev-Team hasn't released a new jailbreaking tool, rather the guides will tell you to use
the most previous release of redsn0w. The latest release only works on iOS up to 4.0.2 thats it. I went
ahead and tested this, seeing as I have my SHSH's on file with saurik. (downgrading is always possible with this)
The Jailbreak seemed to run through just fine on my iPhone 3g, until it booted back into the iOS. My phone
icon had disappeared, cydia.. had a white icon. I got the usual, "Who are you?" pop up when I opened cydia but it just sat there "reorganizing". Cydia never finished installing and won't work, and the phone.app is gone, from the settings section to! So lets see, this turned my phone into an iPod (no phone) and Cydia didn't even work. I deem this method NOT WORKING. I guess we will all have to wait for an official release.
